In discussing the creation of new Canadian musical theatre, we observed that our musicals are not really being developed with dance or movement as a part of the conversation and tend not to use this art form as a storytelling device. By arming writers with knowledge and context of how they could tap into something new and imminently useful to the developmental process, we seek to ensure movement and choreography are a part of the development process leading to it being a valid way of storytelling through the Canadian musical narrative.
